Our Club has been heavily involved with support for Ukrainian families who are being hosted by local families in Caterham and the surrounding area. During the last 12 months we raised almost £10,000 collecting at Knights Garden Centre Chelsham and at Tesco Caterham on the Hill Our sincere thanks to everyone who kindly donated to this important cause. We have been able to use the money to help Ukrainians in Caterham and the surrounding area.
WARM WINTER CLOTHING FOR UKRAINIAN FAMILIES IN WAR TORN UKRAINE
It was in November 2022 that we received news from Rotary HQ in the Midlands, there was desperate need for warm winter clothing for families living in war torn towns and cities in Ukraine. Along with our Club a large number of Rotary Clubs in Surrey Sussex and Hampshire collected 6000 bags of good quality clothing over a period of two weeks and delivered to a storage facility in Sussex. They were then loaded into large lorries and transported by road to the Polish/Ukraine border.
