Caterham Guides 9th

The 9th Caterham Guides who were formed over 50 years ago had recently been experiencing some difficulty in raising sufficient funds to enable them to purchase a new shed for their ever increasing store of equipment.

Caterham Rotary Club got to hear about this through their member Martin Moran who is also a parent volunteer (k/a Armadillo!) and as a result were pleased to present the Guide Group with a cheque for £500 which when added to money already put aside has enabled a new shed to be purchased and erected. Their leader Janette Ralph who has been with them for over 20 years commented “ We are absolutely delighted with the financial support from Caterham Rotary Club. This has given us the opportunity at long last to be able to store more of our equipment whilst at the same time having sufficient room to be able to get at easily.”

Rotarian Martin Moran added “We were very pleased to support the Guides especially as they had worked so hard to raise money themselves for this vital facility but were finding it difficult to reach the final amount required.”
