The outbreak of Coronavirus has understandably increased the pressure on the valuable work already being carried out by the local Caterham Foodbank.

It is against this backdrop that Caterham Rotary are pleased to have made a donation of £1000 towards their running costs, to enable them to continue helping those who are struggling financially caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic

Mike O’Reilly Community Service Chairman of Caterham Rotary said, “we learned very quickly that the Foodbank was seeing a huge increase in demand, and we made an immediate decision to donate much needed funds recognising these exceptional times when many in our community are in dire need”

Stephen Bidwell, Chairman of the Trustees of Caterham Foodbank, commented,

“We are part of the Trussell Trust charitable organisation who aim to provide a minimum of three days nutritionally balanced food to people who have been referred in crisis. It is run by local volunteers for local people.

We wish to thank Caterham Rotarians for their generous donation – it will play a part in helping people get through the current pandemic we face.”

The Foodbank is open on Monday and Thursday 12 – 2 pm at Caterham Baptist Church, 4 Beechwood Road, Caterham Valley, Surrey CR3 6NA

Food is available on a voucher scheme – for further information on how a voucher may be obtained please contact the Foodbank on: 07523 983122 or email: info@caterham.foodbank.org.uk
