The Caterham Rotary Half Marathon 10K (41)

“Thank you and well done to all the organisers and volunteers today. It was a great event! Pity about the weather, but everything else was very well done!!

I wouldn’t have thought about entering this race, but some of your members travelled all the way to Dartford Parkrun to hand out leaflets on a Saturday morning (and yeah, we know the traffic in Dartford is lousy..!), and there were several of us from Dartford there today – so it wasn’t a wasted journey!

Thanks again!”

“In short: nice, quiet , undulating roads.
In full: Great organisation. lovely encouraging marshals. undulating 2 lap half, lovely medal and a great goody bag! Definetly worth doing, especially if you have an autumn marathon to train for.

“In short: Soaking wet but still enjoyed it. But where do I find the results?
In full: I had a few drinks on the Saturday so did not run as fast as I hoped, but I still really enjoyed the run. Once you’re wet, running in the rain is great. You don’t get hot and sweaty and the air feels a lot cleaner. There were a few cars speeding past, but no real problems. Sometimes it’s important to enjoy the weekend and see a run as a nice dose of exercise, rather than an event you must excel at. The flapjack in the goody bag was yummy! The marshals did a great job, thank you. The only issue is the endless search for the race results”

“In short: A great race with not too many people and very friendly marshals
In full: The 2015 event will most definitely be remembered for the wetness…it rained all the way so we were all soaking wet and cold at the end (at least for the 1/2 marathon). But besides that it was a brilliant race. The roads are not traffic free but it wasn’t too busy and as there wasn’t a lot of runners and we trickled out after the start. It was very well organised and the marshals were super friendly. It was easy to get there and there was plenty of parking. And we got a really nice goodie bag – thanks to the sponsors and organisers ! I will most definitely do this race again and will spread the word.

“In short: Very good event
In full: Very well organised event. Nice, countryside course. Not traffic free but run on very quiet roads so no issues with motorists. Lots of supportive marshalls. Plenty of parking. Nice goody bag.
A few more toilets would be good and maybe bottles of water at drinks stations rather than cups (I managed to get about twice as much water in my lungs as I did in my stomach trying to drink from a cup on-the-run!)
