Today’s speaker is Roger Dale “The Trials and Tribulations of a modern Magistrate”

Roger was a magistrate on the Croydon Bench (latterly the South London Local Justice Area) for 25 years.  In addition to normal court sittings, he chaired various court committees and finished his time as deputy chairman of the Bench.  His working life was mainly spent in Information Security, initially for Philips in Croydon, then as a Civil Servant helping the police to keep their information secure.  Roger has been and still is very active having run the London Marathon three times, climbed Kilimanjaro, walked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and cycled from Berlin to Warsaw.  He now coaches badminton, boules and short mat bowls for the Caterham U3A and plays short mat bowls for London County.
