A refurbishing project at Caterham Dene Hospital has been completed with funding support from our Club.

The project developed following discussions late last year with John Hazell, Chairman of the Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital.

Its aim was to refurbish the existing drugs room. commencing with a full strip out. New cabinets, flooring, plumbing, sinks and lighting were then installed. Modern storage units with adjustable shelving and roller shutters have transformed the space into a smart, practical and pleasant working environment.

Run by First Community Health and Care, Caterham Dene Hospital delivers a wide range of community-based healthcare services to residents. These include a 28-bed Intermediate Care Ward offering short-term rehabilitation and assessment for adults recovering from illness or injury, helping many patients regain independence before returning home.

Additional services at the hospital include diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, podiatry, and a range of outpatient clinics, making the site an important hub for local healthcare provision.

Caterham Rotary’s Stef Barrett commented “ Our involvement in supporting The Dene Hospital to upgrade this important clinical area with up-to-date facilities will support staff and patients for years to come.”
