Visitors to our lunch meeting last Thursday were Volunteers Chris Butler Chairman of the SERV Surrey & London Blood Bikes team along with his wife Tara and Beryl Smith from Air Ambulance Kent Surrey & Sussex [AAKSS.] Both organisations received donations from funds raised at our Half Marathon and 10K back in July. Chris drove the Blood Bike “Cedar Tree” [which the Club sponsored over 2 years ago] to the Surrey National Golf Club Chaldon. Wife Tara had previously taken part in the Half marathon.

Chris told us that “Cedar Tree’ had already travelled 25,000 miles since the bike took to the road. During that time had transport blood products, urgent samples and medical supplies, along with donated breast milk to hospitals and milk banks across Surrey & London. In addition the bike had also carried out deliveries of blood to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex.

President Steve Woplin thanked Chris, Tara and Beryl for the wonderful ongoing support that their organisations provide to those in need of their services.
