A blood scanner which was originally donated to the Caterham Dene Hospital a few years ago by The League of Friends, Caterham Rotary Club and Caterham Round Table has had a new lease of life and  has recently been transported to the hospital serving the Kenyan village of Kimilili. A more up to date model  has been installed at The Dene Hospital  which has enabled the older machine to be recycled.

A BIG thanks to our members Geraint Jenkins and Colin Vane, wife Peggy Vane and friends from the local C.H.E.C.K (Community, Health, Education for the Children of Kimilili) Charity who  travelled to Kimilili  in the last few days and safely delivered the blood scanner and the necessary chemicals required for the continued use of the equipment in the local hospital.

In addition to the blood scanner the team also took out books and clothing including knitted garments and recycled school uniforms from Hillcroft School Caterham.

There is a very strong link between Caterham and Kimilili which has built up over the last few years and includes C.H.E.CK. Caterham Rotary, Caterham Overseas Aid Trust, [C.O.A.T.] Caterham School de Stafford School and Whyteleafe School.
