Caterham Rotary Club and Waitrose Caterham are pleased to announce the installation of a new defibrillator, which has been installed on the main outside wall of the store, which is next to Caterham Station.

Last year brand new defibrillators were purchased for Caterham courtesy of the two Caterham Rotary Clubs who arranged for one to be installed in High Street Caterham outside Park & Bailey Estate Agents and the other at The Chaldon Village Hall . The Caterham Valley Parish Council also funded a new defibrillator, which is at the local Soper Hall.

Richard Rostill  Manager of the Waitrose store commented:

“Caterham Rotary Club should be applauded for their continued efforts in ensuring these life-saving pieces of equipment are more readily available in the town.”

In response Roger Easter Marketing & Communciations  Caterham Rotary Club said

“ We are delighted with this link up with Waitrose Caterham. We have worked closely with the resuscitation unit of the ambulance service for advice and guidance and in the event of an emergency requiring an AED a person making a 999 call will be directed to the nearest equipment site.”

Caterham Rotary are now planning to install a defibrillator in the Whyteleafe area and news of this will be announced in the next few weeks.
