Congratulations to our members Derek Newland and Colin Vane who were the belated winners of last year’s Rotary District 1145 Lawn Bowls competition, very narrowly beating Owen Durrett and Tony Malyon from Rushmoor Rotary Club in the delayed final played earlier this week at Ewhurst Bowling Centre.
In a very closely fought match, played as always in great Rotary spirit, only one point separated the two teams going into the final end, before or boys picked up one last point on a measure, taking the title 17-15.

Many thanks, also, to John Greenwood and Patrick Leake from Cranleigh Rotary Club, for very kindly arranging and hosting the final, as well as providing an excellent lunch for both teams afterwards!
This year’s competition is already nearing its conclusion, with both of the semi-finals due to take place later this month.
